Karo was born on August 28, 1982 in former Soviet republic – Armenia, but later
on he moved to the US.
He is a former judoka with several very nice results – he finished
2-nd at the Maruchan Miami Youth International in 1999 and at the Pan American
U20 Championships Acapulco in 2001 he also gained silver. Next in 2002, at the
Canada Cup Quebec Canada his performance was so great, that he got gold medal
and in 2003 he won bronze at the US National Championships in Las Vegas. In the
US, Karo trained under the Hayastan Grappling System, where he could combine
Judo with some elements of Sambo, Wrestling and even Muai Thai.
Karo entered the MMA in 2003 and his fights are full of Judo action because The
Heat is a great judoka warrior.
